Highlights
- Come to know just why Hard Rock Cafe finds itself in over 50 countries
- Step foot inside a dining experience with a difference as you set your eyes over exclusive rock memorabilia
- Choose from many menus and pick what suits your taste buds the best

Films, cars, planets and meteorites have been named after Barcelona as have bands and, of course, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballé's hit song. There’s no doubt that on top of being one of the most vibrant, exciting and sophisticated cities in Europe, Barcelona is also a rock ‘n’ roll Mecca.

Like all great revolutions, the Hard Rock Cafe wasn’t meant to succeed. It was 1971 and as the Swinging Sixties had given way to the Super Seventies, fashions and tastes were changing. Two hungry young Americans were in London and couldn’t find a decent place to eat a decent burger… so they opened up a joint in the English capital. Their landlord didn’t think it would last and gave them just a six-month lease. Four decades later, there almost 200 Hard Rock Cafes in more than 50 countries worldwide.

The first T-shirt hit the streets in ‘74 and the first piece of memorabilia came, fittingly, by chance in ‘79 when Eric Clapton asked to hang his Lead II Fender guitar over his favourite bar stool and thus mark as his spot. Today, the rock 'n' roll collection has more than 74,000 pieces and is the largest of its kind. By 1982, the Hard Rock Cafe had gone global and the rest, as they say, is history (that’s still being written)!

Montjuïc y el puerto de Barcelona

-

Artistic Barcelona: The Best of Gaudí

Balmes, 5 - 08007 - Barcelona

Home to Antoni Gaudí, Barcelona is known as the capital of Modernism and boasts some of the most celebrated Modernist architecture and structures found anywhere in the world. One of the great innovators of his time, Gaudí left his mark on the map of Barcelona and visitors can explore a whole host of architectural treasures that he left behind. From the unfinished masterpiece La Sagrada Familia to the incredibly creative Parc Guell, tour Gaudí’s legacy and discover exactly why Barcelona has such a reputation to this day.

Begin your excursion with a walking tour of the Sagrada Familia’s beautiful exterior. Probably Gaudí’s most iconic design, the gothic and modernist combination remains unfinished to this day. Stroll around its unique spires and facades and learn about the basilica’s rich history including how Gaudí’s untimely death caused construction to stutter.

Proceed to Carmelo Hill in the Gracia district of the city to take in Parc Guell, Gaudí’s modernist and at times bizarre public park. Wander through its streets and gardens and pause as your guide stops to explain the significance of attention grabbing objects such as the multicoloured mosaic salamander.

Make the short trip to Paseo de Gracia, widely regarded as Barcelona’s most expensive street to admire Gaudí’s famous designs for apartment buildings such as the futuristic Casa Batlló and the striking La Pedrera. You are sure to be amazed by the complexity and creativity involved in all of Gaudí’s works and this tour is the ideal way to appreciate the structures and their history.
